Not much has happened this week, and yet we’ve stayed amazingly busy! I had to call someone from the Department of Homeland Defense to tell them we’d done our prints early or they would have waited to process them until our original date. We have no way of knowing how long it will take them to process them, but hopefully it will be quicker than the original date. There were 17 other families in the system ahead of us so it may take a few weeks.

The plans for the garage sale are in full swing and I’m pretty overwhelmed with it. Our church family has been amazingly helpful by donating space, items to sell, help in sorting and childcare while I sort. I’ve never organized a garage sale before and starting with one this big is daunting. Please be praying for good weather and that all the details of the day work out. We have to move all the items the morning of the sale and have everything cleaned back up at the end of the day and right now I’m really not sure how we’re going to get all that done.

Other than that we’ve just been working on getting more apostilles, correcting errors in paperwork, filling out more grants, trying to figure out how everything in the house will be rearranged to make the work out room into a bedroom and what accommodations we’ll need to make for Grace’s wheelchair. The Lia Sophia items came last week and we’ve been able to distribute everyones’ jewelry (thank you to all who ordered!) and we’ve started getting items together for the silent auction. Life has been a little hectic with all of this going on and, of course, ‘real life’ hasn’t slowed down either. In the past week the AC has broken, my tire went flat, both bathrooms have leaks and Philip’s computer is a mess. Philip has been awesome to tackle each of these problems regardless of how tired he is (pretty tired at this point). I think this is just going to be one of the low points of the adoption when we honestly feel like just sitting down and resting and instead have to keep plodding along and trust that God knows what he’s doing and how much we can take.
