We are blessed. We had our first fund raiser yesterday and it was so encouraging. Our friend, Tracy, and her family drove 5 hours to get here to host it (you are a true friend!!) and we had a wonderful time. We haven’t seen Tracy in about 5 years and it’s wonderful to be around one of those friends who you can just pick right back up with and feel so comfortable. We’re already planning the next reunion and Josiah keeps asking when Jonah (her little boy) can come back and play. We had a pretty good turn out and have lots of friends who are still interested in shopping online. For those of you who still want to participate you can click on the Lia Sophia button to the right…it will be there for about 2 more weeks before we close the sale.

We were also blessed to have a local friend offer to bring her Scentsy business over here Saturday. She is also donating all of her profits to our adoption. Her product line is a set of plug-ins and jars that make your house smell wonderful without using a candle…a BIG bonus if you have young children or work in a public building that doesn’t allow candles. They work with a low wattage bulb so the melted wax never gets hot enough to burn anyone and the wax itself is paraffin based so it won’t hurt children even if they get into it. We had a great time smelling all of her waxes and my house smelled like I’d baked something delicious all morning! If you’re interested in taking a look at her products Philip will be getting a button up on the right side of our blog soon.

On top of the fund raiser we also received our first set of apostilled documents in the mail yesterday afternoon and we’ll get to send them out tomorrow to start their journey to Ukraine. These will be the first documents they receive letting them know that a family is for sure attempting to adopt Grace. We are waiting for our stateside facilitators to check the next set of documents so I can send them off to Des Moines to be apostilled as well. We’re getting a little closer!
