We’ve been warned that adoption is a process of hurrying up so you can wait and that’s already begun. The director of RR is back in town, but buried in emails and trying to catch up as fast as she can. While we understand that she’s doing the best she can we are impatient because we’re excited to get things moving and find out more about ‘Grace.’ I keep checking my email every couple of hours to see if she’s written, but so far I haven’t heard anything other than that she received all of our paperwork and check.

In the meantime we’ve continued to try and work out details for fund raisers and celebrated Easter with Philip’s family. We have a family friend who has adopted 10 times and she’s been great to pass along what she’s learned and give ideas of ways to proceed. Instead of a traditional Easter dinner we tested recipes for chili and cornbread for our Texas Chili Dinner fund raiser and I worked on filling out applications for online tutoring jobs and making sure we have enough copies of marriage and birth certificates while Philip continues to try to make sense of the new adoption tax laws.  So for now we’re just trying to stay busy (which isn’t really that hard around here) as we wait to hear something from the director.
